Rokos Capital Management hired former Brevan Howard portfolio manager Luke Sadrian as an investment officer and partner as part of a commodities push.

Rokos has various product lines within its core portfolio, including equities and rates. A Rokos spokesperson told Financial News Sadrian will establish a metals line for the firm.

“Luke will be working closely with Rokos’s energy vertical team — an expansion within commodities from only energy at the moment to energy and metals,” the spokesperson said.

2022 has been a bumper year for Rokos. The hedge fund gained 44% through October, according to a Bloomberg report.

The hedge fund is expanding its team and hiring an investment quantitative analyst in London, according to its LinkedIn page.

As well as Brevan Howard, Sadrian has also worked with Moore Capital Management as portfolio manager. He later became chief investment officer and managing partner at Sadrian Bowman Capital.

He joins Rokos from Commodities World Capital, a fund he has run since 2016.

Rokos chief operating officer Andrew Brown recently resigned from the firm, FN revealed earlier this month. He will remain with the hedge fund for several more months to ensure a smooth transition.
