A senior Citigroup dealmaker who co-heads the bank’s coverage of financial institutions in Europe left as part of a shake-up of the team. Piers Davison, a former JPMorgan banker who joined Citigroup six years ago departed, according to people familiar with the matter.

BNP Paribas’ equity broker Exane cut a number of roles in recent weeks in a move that has seen its deputy head of research depart. Exane, which is now entirely owned by the French bank, has let five analysts go in recent weeks, with Paul Schneider, who has been deputy head of research at the broker since 2018, among those to depart.

HSBC named Robin Browas a managing director within its mid-market M&A team, which it is building under Jacques Callaghan. He joins from family-owned investment bank, Stephens, where he headed up technology banking.

Barclays‘ group chief operating officer Mark Ashton-Rigby is stepping down. He will be succeeded by Alistair Currie, who currently heads its global consumer banking and payments business. Vim Maru will take over the unit from Currie.

The bank also promoted 85 managing directors within its corporate and investment bank, the same number as last year despite tougher times for dealmakers.

Clifford Chance elected London capital markets partner Adrian Cartwright as its new senior partner. Cartwright challenged incumbent Jeroen Ouwehand for the role in a three-way election contest which also featured Dubai-based finance partner Edmund Boyo.

Man Group’s Jason Mitchell was appointed chair of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association. Mitchell is currently Man Group’s head of responsible investment research and sits on several key ESG committees for the Sustainable Accounting Standards Board and the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment.

Jupiter Fund Management appointed Kiran Nandra-Koehrer and Matthew Morgan as head of equities and head of fixed income respectively.  Nandra-Koehrer joins from Pictet Asset Management, where she was most recently head of emerging equities management. Morgan, who joined Jupiter from BlackRock in 2019, was made investment director across Jupiter’s fixed income and multi-asset platform in 2021.

Axa Investment Managers appointed two responsible investment experts to bolster its ESG capabilities. Clément Bultheel was named sustainability coordinator, joining from Quantis, where he worked as a sustainable finance consultant. Benjamin Jacot joins as an ESG quantitative analyst. He previously worked at La Française, where he was a quantitative risk manager and financial engineer.

Hargreaves Lansdown, the UK’s largest online investment platform, announced Dan Olley will take over from Chris Hill as chief executive. Olley, who is CEO at customer data science company dunnhumby, will assume the role in 2023 once he is released from his current obligations.
